What weight does the SHC have with future employers and graduate schools? In short: a significant amount. Not only because of the excellent reputation of the Schreyer Honors College and Penn State, but also because of the rigor of the program. Employers and grad schools know that our students receive a tremendous education in their field and when you add to that the honors opportunities and the demonstration of your creative and research abilities through your thesis, the impact is significant.

What is your favorite chick flick? Does Princess Bride count? If so, that is it.

Do you like Justin Bieber? Who?

Is study abroad emphasized at the SHC? Absolutely! Penn State has a tremendous Global Programs office with hundreds of study abroad opportunities. In addition we have a number of programs specific to the SHC and every Schreyer Scholar is eligible for a Schreyer Ambassador Travel Grant.

What was the greatest thing before sliced bread? Salt.

Pepsi or Coke? Fresh A&W root beer.

What is the most expensive thing that students waste money on? Not going to class. Think about it, break down how much you (or your parents) spend on tuition per class hour and then realize that your nap just cost a bundle.

Where have you traveled to? or Where was your Favorite place? I studied in Germany (near Stuttgart) for 2 months while in college, lived in Oxford, England for 4 years and travelled in Israel, France, Switzerland, Finland, Canada and Mexico. Since our time in Oxford was also our first years of married life, I think I will have to pick Oxford. It is romantic, academic, and will always be special for us.
